Chicken Patties
This is a good alternative to beef hamburgers. I make them with ground chicken or turkey. I do not serve them on a bun, why add more calories to your meal. I just serve them on a plate with whatever I choose on a side. Here I made some mushrooms with onions ans sour cream to go with chicken patties, and have a few slices of pickle. But if you’d like you can have it as a regular hamburger – on a bun, with tomato and other fixings.
Ingredients:
- 1 package ground chicken or turkey
- 1/2 yellow onion (cut in few pieces)
- 1-2 garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tbsp bread crumbs (any kind, I used Italian Style)
- 1/2 cup milk
- parsley (fresh or dry)
- tarragon (fresh or dry)
- 1/4 tsp of curry (optional)
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
- Soak bread crumbs in milk
- Grind onion, garlic and fresh parsley in a food processor
- Sprinkle ground meat with salt and pepper, dry tarragon and curry (if you use it).
- Add bread crumb and milk mixture and onion-garlic mixture
- Mix everything well.
- Make patties and cook them in olive oil until golden brown, turn them over, reduce the heat, cover the skillet and let them cook for about 30-40 minutes (add a little water if necessary so they wouldn’t burn).
Tip: I dip my hands in water when making patties, so they don’t stick to your hands or to the skillet.
